This was an interesting experiment. The big primary crystals are covered with small
rod-shaped crystals. I couldn't capture it very well in the pictures, but the little rods
in the background sparkle like crazy.

The bottom left detail photo is a blowup of a very small area
of the back of the plate, near the rim. The back of the plate
has a slightly different glaze from the front. Lots of interesting
things happening, inside and out.

Left: Vase, 5" dia. x 8-1/2" tall, $135. sold The largest crystals have interesting, complicated centers. Nice areas of secondary yellow background crystals. Good green-black double outer halo.

Right: Six-sided vase, 6-3/4" dia. x 8-5/8" tall, $145. sold This piece was thrown on the wheel. While still damp, it was paddled into a six-faceted shape. The complicated crystal centers, the secondary crystals and the halos are similar to those in the detail photo to the left.

Pepper vase, 4" dia. x 5-1/2" tall, $78. sold This piece is gorgeous. After throwing, while the porcelain was still soft, the sides were pressed in to make the bell pepper shape. The crystals are very luminescent. There is a nice, wide purple-pink halo. Lots of excellent orange and purple-brown tiny secondary crystals. Exactly like the detail photo of the bulbous vase above.
